Captain announced that people better stay away from the lifelines, because they weren't going to bother stopping/searching anymore. The signalmen and the lookouts are topside and some of the bridge watch will go out onto the bridge wings, but everyone else is inside the ship. The reloaders for CIWS may have to go out, but if they are reloading that in the middle of a battle, the shit has truly hit the fan.Comrade Misfithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15404477636451308763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4585442725225382080.post-82734104315500304652008-07-22T21:09:00.000-05:002008-07-22T21:09:00.000-05:00When those situations exist, it is forbidden to go...When those situations exist, it is forbidden to go topside.

I'm confused. During a battle, don't there have to be sailors on the deck shooting the guns and shit?PhysioProfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11046093902090839375noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4585442725225382080.post-53283975549822263472008-07-19T16:58:00.000-05:002008-07-19T16:58:00.000-05:00When those situations exist, it is forbidden to go...When those situations exist, it is forbidden to go topside. That doesn't stop idiots from going topside and yes, they occasionally get washed over the side and die.Comrade Misfithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15404477636451308763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4585442725225382080.post-25113963018501427212008-07-19T08:41:00.000-05:002008-07-19T08:41:00.000-05:00In very heavy weather, due to the risk to the ship...In very heavy weather, due to the risk to the ship and those sailors who would have to go topside to rescue anyone, the Captain may issue an order that anyone who falls over the side will not be recovered.

That's gotta focus the mind. I assume there are also situations in battle where anyone who falls overboard is not going to be recovered, because the recovery would be too detrimental to the battle considerations.PhysioProfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11046093902090839375noreply@blogger.com
