I don't know particularly about the Armed Services, but as an audio/video guy, SOP for film and any sort of audio tape is to store tails out, for several reasons. First, any environmental damage would then be on the tails, which are usually longer than the heads, as well as tensioning the tape prior to use on the same machine that they would be played on. Also, if stiction rears its unlovely head, a rewind will loosen the stuck bits before playing, while the tape/film is not running through the sprockets or pinch rollers, where they would possibly damage the film or tape.Yogihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18149759309589778285noreply@blogger.com
