The Battle of the Atlantic

From "Morning Joe":

The book being flogged there is "a Measureless Peril.

"The Battle of the Atlantic" by Terry Hughes is long out of print, but it is an excellent work on the longest battle of the Second World War.

I had he pleasure of working with one of those MIT grads that made building
the liberty ships possible. His and his colleges did stress analysis using his newly developed resistive strain gauge to come up with the welding schedule for the ships. Liberty ships were the largest welded structures of the day. The first ones being welded up in he wrong order would build stresses great enough then they often split or cracked the keel on launching. It ws amazing story to listen too from one of the people that were there.

Everyone did whatever they could, and more.
