150 Years Ago- First Sinking by a Submarine

150 years ago today, the Confederate submersible CSS Hunley sank the USS Housatonic off Charleson, SC. Apparently, the sub was close enough to the explosion that the crew was incapacitated by the blast.

Miss Fit, CSS Hunley was salvaged and is being conserved at a facility in Charleston, SC. The folks there are doing quite a brilliant job. When you get to Charleston, it's a 'must see'.
